Happy National Poetry Writing Month, everyone! Here are your prompts for week one:

can't fool me twice
four years of knowledge and a useless degree
I refuse to desecrate you
the sun-tree state
a calmer state of mind
closed for sanity's sake
cerulean & magenta
leave your grievances on the table

PSST! Those of you who read this far, thank you! Here's a special reward: the knowledge that if you take a thesaurus to one of the prompts above, you will get the name of a popular young adult book series that I KNOW (or at least hope!) you've heard of. The first person to comment with the name of this series and the corresponding prompt gets 25 points, courtesy of yours truly! This will happen every week, with a total of four book series listed and 100 points given away. An example of a prompt/puzzle would be "god of round things" meaning Lord of the Rings. (That was almost a prompt/puzzle, but it's not exactly YA, so I nixed it. ;) )

PS. Why do you write like you're running out of prompts? Because you're not! Here are more! :D

50 Prompts (5)With a new NaPoWriMo beginning, I thought some people might need some prompts, so I managed to scavenge these out of my scraps. Hope these can help!
On a side note, yes, I'm doing NaPoWriMo again this year and as usual I'm only going to post pieces I think are best. Hopefully this year will end with a lot of nice pieces because I'm kind of having a writer's block right now. Well, I'll do the best I can :D
Veni, vidi, vici
I don't want to say goodbye
Leave a message at the tone
Polaris
The smell of death
Trails of ants
Necklace of pearls
Sometimes I realize I'm a little too late
Vanilla
I'm too proud to admit it
Greenhouse
Head in the clouds
Sunflower fields
My hands are full of rose thorns
You are my lighthouse
Birdsong
Haunting melodies
Sweet tooth
My lips are sealed
Hidden alleyways
Let's go down to the seaside
Vocal chords
Empty candy wrapper
I put my face on in the morning
Cinnamon
Underneath the clothes
There's nowhere to run away to
Lost in space
Yellow roses
And they just
:icongliitchmonth:  A Little Prompt-y Goodness IIPoetry has its own National Month dedicated to it! The month of APRIL!
They even have a funny little acronym for it, NaPoWriMo. Those of us who write prose recognize this a little... Hmmm... sounds like NaNoWriMo. I am sure that is completely coincidental and the two have nothing to do with one another.

So, last year I offered up a plethora of prompts:  One for each of the days of April, and due to a request (yes LualaDy I mean you) I will be prompting you once again! I will feature you at the end of the month  if you tag this journal in your deviations comments!
There is also a contest going on, hosted by MagicalJoey, so go and join in!
